Does an Acroprovic affect your fuel consumption

I have slapped a slip on onto the ADV.  Granted I at the same time switched from road to knobblies.  It would appear as if the bike is heavier on gas - is this normal/possible ?

I would have thought with the slightly less resistance it would be better consumption - or is it the knobblies that are the culprit?
