Down to the frame for XR650L

So...my eldest (and I...) are considering to strip a XR650L down to have the frame repainted.
How big a job is it really? Can you dismantle in a day and built back in 2?
I have removed swing arms, head bearings, top end on 2 strokes, on enduro bikes etc....but have never gone "deeper" into removing the loom, engine, etc.
He will be paid R1500 for labour..and learn hopefully a lot..
