Hey Guys,
A friend of mine uses Michelin Anakee 2's on his V-Strom 650. His last set saw 33,000 km but the front tyre developed bubbles (Michelin asked for the tyres back, they wanted to determine why they were bubbling...). He is currently on 15,000 km on the next set of Anakees.
He is very light (70kg), only rides tar and rides very mildly. I trust his figures. He's one of these hyper-miler types
Now, on my GSA I have "Maxxis Presa Detours". I've never heard of them (have any of you?). These are what I got the bike with. They have 4,000 km on them and they are starting to square off. I have not taken them off road yet.
I'm heavy (105kg), bike is heavy (GSA) and I ride with gusto.....
I ride predominantly on tar and off road stuff is not technical. I'm thinking Anakees for the next set. I want to get at least 10,000km out of the tyres. Am I expecting too much?
What else could/should I consider?
