First Ride - Atlantis Dunes

So last saturday me and Malcolm planned to go watch the National Supermotard at Killarney,and National Motocross at Zone7.
We met up at eversdal garage 9:30am and headed of to killarney,came there and I was expecting alot of people,only to find a few cars going in and not much really going on(maybe it was a bit to early?)Anyway,R40 entrance fee was not working for either of us so we left to Zone 7 for the MX.And guess what,there where no motocross going on there,they were only preparing for the folowing day,but on the websites and stuff shows that its the saturday aswell.
And there we were not knowing what to do...
I asked Malcolm if he wanted to do the enduro loop,cause he has'nt done it before,so we took a gamble and just went for it(without paying :deal: ;D)
I could'nt go on as a maniac,because I had my screen on,so we took it easy...Just 1lap and then the briliant idea poped up in my head.
Looked at Malcolm,and asked if he wants to go to atlantis?
I havent been there yet,due to surcomstances.So I thought just go for it,It was a perfect day for the dunes,nice weather aswell.
So we hopped onto the railwayline-witch is really awsome by the way,malcolm told me where all the lurcers where,and said we should gun it to atlantis(for the simple reason not to get ambushed or stabbed)
Was a nice ride to atlantis,enjoyed it alot.
But in my head I was thinking...is this a good idea,not very well planned,I have the screen on,witch I usally take of for enduro type riding(just incase I fly over the bars)Did'nt have water on me,no snack.
Turned out okay tho,I followed malcolm in,he told me yet agen to stay with him and not to take a sanddive... >I must say he rides pretty good on that little 125 NXR thru the sandy roads.
Was about 3km's in to the sand core,where my eye's opened to the great  white sand plaines.Was awsome :blob7: :blob3:My first time on a bike there,I decided to ditch the screen safely in a thick bush-Later turned out to be a very smart move :biggrin: ot:
Just as we started EXPLORING the dunes,I gased it a little,and suddenly a shear dropoff under me,was a moerse dune witch I did'nt see,and I went over,Hahaha,was scary,and a wakeup call.
So after the sand tasting,I went to get rid of all the sand,and malcolm said lets ride that dune up...He went first,and me behind him.
Was great! Getting some airtime at the top :mwink:
We took alot of pics and had a great time...
Malcolm gooied a skimp to ride the big 650,,"Martin you wanna try the NXR for a bit?" He took the DR for a leke spin and came back smiling...
But damn is it a mission to get the NXR up and over a dune.
After that the bikes got pretty hot,and we took a small splash in some pool in the middle of the dunes.I guessed it worked.
Road some more and by then I was pretty hot :dousing:had my enduro jacket on(instead of the jersey)so we decided to call it a day,went to a nearby shop,bought some powerade and took a nice brake.
After that we took the railwayline back,I think malcolm had a close counter with a"bokkie",and about halfway,we stopped and he could'nt go on any futher,did'nt have handguards on,so he's hands got a bit of a beating.We found a exit and gunned it back home,Some D0#s on a Xchallange from melkbos passed us,not waving at all.
Got home safely and it turned out to be a great day.
