Fitting Fuel Hose - Help please

What other means are there to fit a fuel line to a filter/carb/fuel **** EXCEPT those screw - in clamps??

Dont want those clamps, they cut into the rubber and fuel leaks.

And I dont get those clamps (wire thingies) that you open with pliers ANYWHERE in town.

Cable ties.......?? Do they work?
