I rebuilt the old XL500S. I redid the forks with new seals etc, and added the specified amount of fork oil.
I used 10W, Belray I think it was. Got it at Runner.
The forks also have an air valve on top, but I read that you don't put much air in at all, just a gentle fart is already too much.
My problem is that the forks are very soft. Dive under braking, compress too much too fast.
How do I sort this, on a budget? Paramedics can't afford fancy progressive springs etc.
Would it help if I used a "thicker" fork oil, like 15W or even 20W?
And maybe a bit more oil than specified|?
