Don't know if this is the right place, but the mods can move it if they see fit (I can't see this be a 'Ride report : )
I went out exploring a little yesterday - nothing serious but just a little 30 minute wizz around the neighbourhood.
New development in progress, so I went up and down a couple of nice gravel dam walls and such and then on the way out I took this little single track.
Looked more like damp sand than mud and clay...
Then a couple of meters from the end of it I started to sink in - the surface was about .5 cm of 'dry sand' - under that was very pap clay. I felt it sink in and gassed it - just to lodge the front VERY firmley into the very wet mud/clay.
Kicked it over and hung on for dear life onto the handle bars and pannier frames.
Didn't move at first - then all of a sudden you hear this 'suction' sound and it started to move.
It was two fights - one to get it out and the other to get it clean...
Anyway - the point is - 'Daar's nie pille vir domgeit nie' *
*Translation - there's no medicine for being stupid...
