Hi.

I need some advise. I have an old car (1959 vw beetle) that have been standing for 5years with about 15liters of fuel in it. The fuel have gone and left about 5mm layer of gum/gunk in the tank.

Is there some way to remove it? The local radiator guy said he would use acid to get it out. I dont want to use acid and risk damage to the metal tank.

Is there an coating to prevent rust?
Epoxy, galvanising, electro plating (used on newer vehicles)
Is the some place near or in PE that can help met with treatment to prevent rust.

The pic is some of what i could get out.
