GP's XT600 34l Tenere 1984 Rebuild

Here goes - I have never taken on a project like this before and have little to no experience.  I assume the thread will have a lot of questions and requests for advise from on the rebuild.  I bought the XT from Bill P on the forum in January and the plan is to do a complete rebuild / restore.  The bike is in good running condition and is 99.99% complete.  This will be a long drawn out rebuild as I work on rotation in the DRC and time on the project is limited.
