I have always loved hammocks - travelled extensively around the Andaman Islands with one and learned to love it .
No problems with finding level ground etc - What is your take on hammocks ?
Here is a good example of a well made hammock - https://hennessyhammock.com/catalogue.html
Ticket to the moon also do some good versions - https://www.ticketothemoon.com/
DD hammocks - looks well made and have quite a following - https://www.ddhammocks.com
I like the hennesy versions because of the rain sheet on top and built in mosquito nets - they also do a double skinned tropical one which is great for mozzies who can pierce through thin fabric
I am thinking this is the way I am going to go for my camping - some hammocks pack down so small they are a great option to bring with even if you still intend to bring a tent .
