Handling a 650GS when you are waaayyy too short?

Okay, I am hoping there is a secret to help me keep my bike upright when I have to stop.  Unfortunately I am 1,63cm tall and basically only the balls of my feet touch the ground when sitting on my GS.  Since the bike is a tad heavy, this does create some excitement if I don't manage to stop with perfect balance.  Since I am a total newb, this is a problem...

Apart from buying platform shoes, what can I do to prevent me dropping the bike?  This is not such an issue in my driveway, but it certainly would be if I am out in traffic!!!   

I think my seat is already set to the lowest setting?
