It’s all over - Packing up.
After a great closing dinner at a place called Africa Café, we retired to bed, leaving the guests to feast on some traditional African hospitality.
The next morning we started transporting bikes to the Bidvest SACD where the disassembling would start. It was again screens, mirrors and panniers off, batteries disconnected and making sure all bikes were properly crated, ready for shipment back to Europe.
We also had to drain each bike of the remaining fuel, for both safety reasons and weight saving.
Three days were set aside to prepare everything for shipment. We were working vigorously, with everyone assigned a specific task. This meant that after day 1, we were well ahead of schedule.
The next morning we finished the last of the bikes and by 11h00 we were on the road, heading back to Loxton.
Eric and his team finished the last of the equipment packing. Between him and Phillipe, an astronomical amount of work was done in terms of logistics, setting up the coffee stations, banners, gazebos etc. during the trip. Sterling guys that you definitely want on your side with such a trip!
As we drove home, the Karoo delivered a very suiting display of beauty to end a great trip.
And so another adventure comes to an end. It was truly a privilege to be part of this amazing experience.
Until the next one. [emoji1303]
