How does hard luggage fare when crashing? and other questions

Hi Guys

the main point in me not getting hard luggage for the GSA, is because I'n concerned that I will damage them severely in small crashes on technical terrain. But, I don't really know how the actually fare in such spills? Do they distort easily and break off/bend the brackets etc? As i've said, no experience at all. All I know is that they are extremely expensive.

how does Trax panniers fit onto the stock BMW Adventure brackets? Do you need to replace the stock ones with Trax brackets in order for them to fit on the bike?

Are there any outlets that sell BMW Panniers other than BMW?

Do you save much by buying aftermarket panniers and not the BMW ones?

The only two problems I have with soft luggage, is that they always burn on the exhaust, and they cant lock....

I really need to sort this out. It's making me mad!!! At the moment it's between Kaoko soft bags, or the BMW Pannier set....
