Took my HP2 to Alain last Wednesday for a PCV. Get a call from him that after the 1st run the bike won't start. EWS error code. Takes it to BMW to fit a new ring antenna. BMW says error code means faulty unit. They also said this was a common problem on the 2005/2006 bikes. Some may have been replaced under warranty. They fit the new unit and bike still won't start.
Today I'm told that 2 control units are faulty and must also be replaced. No technical explanation of what went wrong. Also they don't yet have prices of the units nor availability.
Hope to hear tomorrow what's going on.
Question: Is this a common problem with the ring antenna? What's the solution?
