Day 11
Distance: 589km
Accommodation: home

We left the lodge at first light and headed home, the k@kest day on a bike in my life.
Before 10am it never got above 5 degrees. And there was a hell of wind blowing right across the road.
Not pleasant weather for bike riding.

It is at this point that we decided we will be using a trailer on our next trip.
It really is not worth it to spend 4 days commuting to Namibia and back. We've done it twice now and the trans Kalahari is not for sissies. You can never go above 100 -110km/h and you have to slow down every 2 km to avoid hitting donkeys and trucks.

Now we have to wait for Neil to heal (after his little altercation with very large piece of tar road) and then I think it is Zimbabwe time  :pot: :pot: :pot: :pot: :pot: :pot:

I do hear the KTM is looking VERY sexy after the re-constructive surgery

Until the next Jameson Brothers adventure!

Jip doing a long trip like this to crash hitting a taxi close to home.. also having to use 50/50 tyres for the tar to the trip and back is kark for "the trip" part of the ride.

Just read the whole report again, damn it was fun...

One pic that I was quite amazed by on the day down from Opuwa about 150km's after Opuwa on the C3 (if I remember correctly) is one of the most stunning mountain passes that you will find, check out this pic....

They are tarring the tope section but the dirt on the side is even more interesting.
