A group of 4 of us are planning a trip from JHB to Die Hel to Cape Town in October and would appreciate some route ideas from those that have done it.
current rough plan is:
Day 1: JHB to Gariep Dam (via Clarens for lunch)
Day 2: Gariep to Prince Albert (via Graaf Reinet for lunch)
Day 3: Prince Albert to Die Hel to Calitzdorp (or surrounds)
Day 4: Calitzdorp to Cape Town
Day 5 to 7: CT to JHB (probably via garden route)
Bikes will be: 850GS, 1200GS, 2xKTM 990's.
We prefer riding on dirt to tar but nothing too technical as bikes will be heavy.
Plan at this stage is to camp as much as possible.
I would appreciate any advice on the planned route or specific places to see or stay at.
