Mr.T
Race Dog
A spur of the moment decision to go as the other dogs had decided to bark up the tree in Ceres.
Saturday at 07H15 we left with the best intentions of doing as much dirt to dam as possible.
First stop at deserted railway station depot and a much needed cup of coffee.
Drazil was right when he said there was some free standing smokers here.
Next stop on good roads to crossing of Fish River near Milnerton Manor.
Hook direction to Bedford on good dirt.
Stopped at “The Verander” in town and had a much needed breakfast. (Catherine 072 277 6870)
Rode to Adelaide and took the R344 over to the top of the mountain via Springvalley.
A friend on the road looking for a tortoise and Fugly race. The tortoise won as he had nowhere to go and got there fast and first.
Some shots on top of the mountain and slightly cooler. The Autumn colours in the trees here were awesome.
Some refreshments, as it was about 90km ride on dirt.
Bought a plastic bag of wood and loaded onto the Fugly. The road was rutted and sandy so I followed, picking up pieces ofFugly wood until the campsite at the dam.
Had a much needed shower. Did the braai thing and amazed the eyeballs and mind with the stars for a few hours.
Left the next morning and no body to pay for the camping the night before.
Did the ride to Cradock and filled the Fugly with gas, not oil.
Now here is the thing: we did the Fugly with new pistons and rings, as it had been using oil from new. This was the first trip and up to Cradock, no problem with oil usage.
One well behaved Fugly and happy Locktite.
Left Cradock for the Owl House in Nieu Bethesda.
Left, and rode over the Rooiberg mountain.
Real washed out roads and lots of stones.
The horse you see had NO intention of moving. Road around and left him to enjoy the rest of his day.
Had lunch at Graaff-Reinett and then slabbed it home.
Great ride, great weather, and a very happy Locktite as Fugly now a-okay!
