Hi there,
after spending a lot of money rebuilding the engine of my 690 (all the top end, piston....), the bike was almost perfect until the mechanic discovered the worst that could happened: the bottom engine amount is broken and the bike is now unridable.
I know the best way is to replace the crankcases so all the engine needs to come out but honestly, I won't because I've spent too much money in this bike. So if it is the only solution, I will sell the bike for parts. I would have lost a lot of money but won't spend more.
Before that, do you think it could be welded? For my part, I'm not really sure it would last but what do you think? And would you know any person who could do this job in Western Cape (George would be great)?
Thanks for your advice,
Laurent
