KTM950 Fuel Tank Transfer

Did the toyrun in CPT (very slow riding and heat) when we stopped at Forries, both MH and my bike's fuel had 'pushed all the fuel into the LH tank and I know that I 'lost' fuel through the breather pipe. Can anyone tell me why this happened? Was this due to the extreme heat and slow riding in the masses?
