Being the long weekend I am sure most had something or other to do. ::) Needless to say Flex, sacapa and myself met at the Farmers Market in Shongweni for our coffee and egg and bacon roll before setting off on our ride. The idea was to do a similar trail as the previous week as it was so what technical, yet scenic in the same breath. :mwink:

All went according to plan untill Thorstone picked up a puncture. He/We tried to repair however even after patching a +-1 cm hole in the tube it only lasted another 10 or so km's. This took us back out the valley where we headed back to Botha's hill (slowly).

At this point we called it quits and all departed our ways, untill our next ride.

Flex I never did get to buy you your cold drink at the end of this ride but I will square up.

It was a good ride all the same and with only 3 bikes the pace was rather quick. No falls recorded on this ride.......here are some pics. :thumleft:

OK Dave, I'll hold you to that "cold drink"......
Nice pic of that XR - white frame like mine Mmmmmm  I like it !!  :thumleft:
Also, make we think I gotta get a bash plate - full of chips on the frame and bash bars down below.
As soon as I'm in the office I will download my pics and post them as well.
Zacappa that type looks really good - how many shekels ?

Nice one guy, sorry i missed it, eneded up doing a 6 hr ride from Westmead, Shongweni, Hammerdale and Pacevale with mates on their plastics i was trying to keep up on my 690>

Just tried the desert for a short run up the road. ZAR 1160 by the way. Noticeable change in gearing as the tyre is a lot taller than the std. Trailwing.
Fits into swingarm nicely though, i had to modify the chainguard (which was partly melted away by the punctured tyre anyway) a bit.
I may go down to 14 tooth countershaft sprocket again. Bonus with current setup is she purrs along with no vibes at 120kph.

Looks like a great tread for the riding we doing  :thumleft:
Not surprised your cahin gaurd is graunched - 20kms on a flat tyre.... :peepwall:

Here is a pic of the offending nail.
