Pity you didnt do the bit from Ponto to Maputo, thats just as much fun, just longer !

Antonie and Fanus did that section. Apparently they're preparing the road for tarring. Only ± 45 km's of rough sand, then dirt highway and tar for the rest.

Need to do it soon - when's the next public holiday?

once again, your report elicits a couple of chuckles ;D thanks!

GR8 report Leo thanks. Come on boys time for a Moz trippie, just running out of time for this year....

That sand!!! Did these okes know what was waiting for them?

Me thinks you're gonna run out of riding buddies real soon.

I briefed the okes before we left  ;) Me thinks that's why 9 of them chickennned out  ;D

Will have to catch a few newbies for a ride some time soon  ;D

You are always laughing but not the other oke's, at least you enjoy yourself :D That's hard work in the sand with the big bikes, excellent going to all of you and great report Leo.

Sodwanan looks like Margate beach! And Moz no different than the South coast, it looks like the South Africans pull up their in droves? Are 4x4's a problem there or just starting to be a problem, looking at the sand tracks all over the place?

amen..who wants to go to Moz?

What time of the year is the best for going?

Winter , when there are less mozzies and flies and when manhandling a bike in the sun wont kill you.

I think it's a real problem. There's at least three tracks to Ponta - some places up to 5. Another problem are the people on the kwats. They ride like crazy and don't give way to us okes sukkeling in the sand......... I mean really how difficult is it to turn a kwat out the tracks?  Lotsa wimmen and children riding these things nowadays

A lot of challenge in the sand darn I missed out on a good trip!!!!!  :(looks like a lot of 'fun' I also detect the noticeable absence of the orange Beast amongst the
BM WOBBBBLE Us!!! ;) ;)

Lompies,

Time to give up the day job and find someone that will sponsor your riding. Great report and great pics. I have to take you guys to Botswana one of these days. Excalabur needs to learn the lesson, when in doubt give it horns. Well done .

Edwin ****** Atkins, welcome!!! Check the spelling of my name! Ek bliksem nie hard nie maar net aanhoudend!!!! Leo my ou chomma, thanks for a great trip again. Was a great experience in the sand. Panting, swearing but the laughter afterall ruled. Yes, die Santiagos is nou ingery en die Beemer se gearbox is nog altyd chap!! Lesson: Dont start a trip wiff new fellies!! Put them on and just walk them, even just to the kakhuis!!!

Welcome Ed.  ;)

Thanks man - you volunteering to sponsor me.  ???

Maybe BMW is looking for someone, I hear Deon Meyer's contract has expired, and he's not re-newing

I still want to see who can plan a trip better than "die ou Leeu". All you Frendship Safari's to Zanzibar, i was one of the lucky one's to went up to Pomene (Mozambique) and the Desert Run (Namibia) with the ''oubaas''. Trips never to forget, hope ama ride ride, can make the next one!
