Is there a member here that is familiar with the road conditions ( paved ) in Lesotho? We did the Monantsa pass road this weekend , and its all but tarred but for the last 10 odd kilos , but roadworks are just about ready for asphalt . Think it will all be completed in maybe 6 months time .
Looking at Google earth , some street level photos are from 2013 , so slightly out dated . We also road the road to Mohale dam and over easter to Qachas nek , this was all paved . Also looks paved from MOHALE to THABA TSEKA . but from here to KATSE looks like dirt as well as to MOKHOTLONG .
Toying with tour options , and if the roads are paved it opens them big time for a round trip . Ideal option would be to go from Monatsa to afriski Mokhotlong , Thaba tseka , Mohale , Roma , Semonkhong Quachas nek and back around the bottom .
But if not paved , the 100 kilos can take a day to ride and if there is rain its a no go !
