From Phiring we had to ride on tar again past Burke's Luck and the Byde River Canyon view point to get to the Vaalhoek road . In the process crossing back into Mpumalanga

This time of the year you can clearly see why it is called Vaalhoek

After a few kms, we turned onto Casper'snek road and again crossed border into Limpopo. I've never been on this road before and thoroughly enjoyed it.

We got back onto R36 and saw a quirky Padstal called Tiezers next to the road. They were fully booked for a lunch function so we could not sit down for Milkshakes. The guys all started making "going home" noises and I received a call from my wife to say that my youngest had a massive fever and had been vomiting since midnight. It was clear the trip was coming to an end but I had one more trick up my sleeve.......

We rode on to Lydenburg where one has to have a jaffle from the coffee shop at the Sasol garage. After that it was down to Nelspruit on the Weltevreden Road which was covered in fesh-fesh with lurkers underneath. It made for very slow and careful riding down to Nelspruit.

Those jaffles are brilliant.
My favorite is the breakfast jaffle
