I'll let Ryperd fill in the "official" details and info
When I walked outside early this morning, and was greeted by THIS:
I knew it was going to be a GOOD day 8)
Wyfie and myself got to the meeting point 5 (FIVE) minutes EARLY. Funacide - that means that WE WERE NOT LATE !!!! >
Our first stop for the day
Poppipants new ride - absolutely perfect condition - nice bike
Our second stop - somewhere past Ogies and close to Witbank
It was here that Mrs Tonteldoos discovered that her bike was not "lekker".
Tonteldoos's first reaction that the gearbox was buggered (This bike has a bit of a history)
Tonteldoos saw that the chain was loose and here he is, taking off the sprocket cover
A surprise awaited - the nut that holds the front sprocket on was missing. It was later established that the mechanic had forgotten to fit it. The bike had done about 600km since it was at the dealer
Enter AdventureMX

He refitted the sprocket and then shaped a washer out of a coke can and wrapped some wire around the thread
Mixing some Quickset Steel - to form a nut
The finished product (as far as I know - the bike completed the whole ride)
Another stop (notice: mielieland is drawing nearer)
Funacide, Ryperd & Leo
Poppipants
Panne (all the way from Polokwane) (thats far !!! ;D)
Wyfie, Wino & Ama Drink Drink ;D
It may be prudent to mention at this stage that Garmin and Mapsource have 2 South African versions. One version is used by ALL users in RSA and the other is used ONLY by Riding Horse.
Enter the mielies (and a proper road according to Ryperd)
I was so caught up in the moment and as self designated and unofficial keeper of photographic record, I had a mishap :-[ :-[ :-[
Back to the mielies - we got temporarily disorientated and circled a rather large mielie field - in THIS:
Wyfie did not trust me and since the sprocket stop - decided to hitch a ride on Ama Sand Sand's Sofa
(Poppipants in the mirror)
Eventually we arrived at our destination
AdventureMX was tired (he had a busy morning repairing one sprocket)
The WD's settling in
Ryperd and Panne transporting Pooh and annorexic Barney ;D
Poppipants - hehehe >
(can I have the email address of ALL family, friends, colleagues etc etc.....)
Offloading the Honey lover and purple man
Leo
Wyfie, AdventureMX, Ama Look Look, Leo & Wino
Leo, meet Leo ;D :
Ryperd chased all the kids away
Wyfie & AMX
Ama Tough Tough
Then, we did the unthinkable - offered to give the kids a ride (Beeeeg mistake)
I think we circumnavigated that field about 50 times each
After handing over our donations (I'll let the others fill in here)
Resting under the trees
Malgat, Wino, Leo
AMX also donated two golf shirts to two lucky Wilddogs - congrats Wino & Panne
That's all I have
Wyfie and I had a great day. What a privledge to be able to help those so less fortunate than ourselves.
Thanks Ryperd and the others - and also especially Wino for the DVD player
