Day 1 was an easy gravel ride, albeit quite a long one at just over 400km. It was merely a warm up for the rest of the trip. The real riding was to start on Day 2. Little did I know how the routes we were heading for had changed in the 3 years since I last rode here. Heavy rains turned a lot of it into very challenging terrain. We were in for a few days of some very gnarly riding!

Jesse and I both had cold start issues on the trip. Mine battery related while his was probably a fuelling issue on the 950

Jesse and Johan were riding partners and roommates on this trip. Both are business owners in Nelspruit.
