Once on the tar we took off towards Francistown, then Palapye where we overnighted at a B & B thankfully, for my shoulder needed a real bed and Mo needed some comfort and medical assistance as his condition had worsened. D man announced his retirement (again) from doing these trips, his death grip on the handlebars was enough already, whilst africanSky started planning the next one in his head, I’m sure.

Sunday morning saw us on the road just after 6 am and we were through Martin’s Drift border post and in the Wimpy in Lephalale just as the town was waking up.

Home before 2 pm that afternoon, Misty was ready to deliver me to the emergency clinic – a broken collar bone, a plate and 12 staples later, but hey, still alive, and ready for the next trip – where we going? The list is endless.

This pic sums up the trip in 1 shot!! Courtesy again of africanSky – taken about 8 pm with just the campsite fire for lighting (PS africanSky, a must to submit for the monthly competition!!)

Thanks everyone for another really memorable trip, and as any ride report is useless without pictures I will let them do the talking from here on…

Awesome stuff guys, sorry we missed it too!!! Next time (yea yea I know)  ;D Really some stunning scenery out there and lots of peace and quiet that I can do with! Pity about the "little off" sweets, but I'm know you will be riding again soon  :ricky:

That tent/stars photo got my vote, awesome! Strongs with the shoulder.....mine was giving me hell (not broken) for close to a year till I started using Transact plasters, 20 day treatment and I am finally sorted!!  :thumleft:

Really cool RR on the pans. We did a trip through there on the way to the okovango last month, also on bikes. Was toying with the idea of posting pics, etc but there's no point now.

Your's are really good - catches the moment perfectly

Was wishing I was back there as soon as I saw them...... :'(

Fantastic RR and pictures! Thank you!  :thumleft:

Wow Kev, absolutely stunning.  You have taken a bunch of photographs and turned them into an amazing story of a great weekend

So anyway, I thought what happens around a campfire in Botswana stays in Botswana.  ;D

My wife has asked, once again, “what’s wrong with you?” after hearing about these fireside conversations.  I can happily report that I am back on medication and that evil alter ego of mine, Chuck, will not be re-appearing.

Just joking,  it was all due to the red wine.

Had lots of assistance from Misty with putting this one together!

What happens on tour stays on tour yes and it was just camp fire talk that may not really have happened! and so your wife need not worry unless you have the grape juice again...
