Anyone gone to Malawi and back (from Gauteng) lately?
I am planning a trip around mid year (maybe August) in our normal 4x4 annual trip time but decided to go on the bike (1200GS Adv) this year to Malawi. My dad will be in his Pajero with a bushtrailer in tow. I had a look at different routes to Cape McClear. Basic plan is to go around Zim through Bots/Zambia and back through Moz and maybe visit Gorongosa park in Moz (no bikes allowed but can leave it at gate secured with rangers there). Zim is an option but I have bad memories from a 4x4 Zim trip 2 years ago (especially Beit bridge)
Any ideas on route, camping spots, what to see along the route etc?? We have 2 weeks.
