This is too true for the majority
Many men dream of the adventure, of being rough and tough and untamed, like a proper cowboy in the old American west or boer in SA back in the 1800's
But time and money and commitments and a soft life keeps them from ever coming close - unfortunately a day trip to Oasis, or a hunting trip where you shoot something at 150m from the back of a bakkie with a R50k-R100k state of the art rifle and scope is seen as an adventure
Some of the older guard, some farmers, some few-and-far-between adventurous spirits are still untamed on the inside, but most men now are facades of what we are meant to be - and I am speaking wider than just biking, camping and hunting now
What has happened to us men?
I need to work on this myself more, and spend a bit more time making sure that my son grows up with some wildness in his heart, and not be afraid to be a real man
