The Vstrom was good but just too average at everything. It lacked character. In the 5 years I had it did just 8185km of which 8180km was on tar.
Then a 640 Adv came alone and after spending 3 months stripping it down, given it a once-over and taking it for a few rides it reminded me why I like two wheels so much. Over the next 3 months I found myself almost always going to the 640 and leaving the Vstrom under cover.
The Vstrom is like a dependable boring girlfriend that goes to bed early.
The 401 is that little slightly wild one you want to swing a leg over and have fun with.
