Moordenaarskaroo trail - Closed?

Does anyone know if there are now locked gates on the Moordenaarskaroo trail towards Sutherland. Basecamp seems to think so (T4A)
I am helping a Gauteng dog with a route, and I would like to include the trail in order for his group to get to Tankwa.
