I left home around 7:45.
At 08:20 this was my view
By 09:45
and just 120km short of 100000, and one trip short of its major service.
The fact that I'm posting this is in itself devine providence.
The drive shaft broke while I was in the fast lane.
I initially thought clutch splines when I lost drive, but when I had stopped at the side
of the road and tried to push the bike onto the gravel, the back wheel locked up and
I heard the drive shaft hit the inside of the swingarm.
Was I warned ? Just passing the ENgen One stop, I felt via the foot pegs that things werent
kosher, but I figured I'd make the 15km further to to work and check it out there.
That was not to be. While waiting for the missus to arrive with trailer, I pulled back the
rubber gator and a few pieces of metal fell out.
Oh and to the 5 or 6"bikers" motorcyclists who passed me (a few even waved) thanks for nothing.
Anyone wanting to part with a good drive shaft ? Else I'll be checking motorworks, may as well replace the
clutch while I'm at it hey.
