Entry 28 - 200 Million Year Old Morning Wood
Star date - 26-27 July 2018
Distance:  243 miles on the 26th - 80ish miles on the 27th

I awoke on the morning of July 26th to the sound of some prick **** banging on my motel room door like the D.E.A. (Drug Enforcement Agency).  It was an oh **** moment for a split second because I still had that big jar of Mary Jane with me, until I figured out in my morning haze that I was still in Colorado where Mary is legal, shewww.

I answer the door with a stern look on my face, to a man bitching up a storm at me in an aggressive tone, about noise and complaints, bitching at the staff, this and that, and that I need to leave today.  I stand there and listen until Mr. **** is done with his rant, until I ask **** whether he's done.  He answers yes.  So I said to ****, excuse me, you PRICK ****, I think you need to go confirm the room number because you have the wrong guy.  I'm here by myself, I haven't made a peep all night, I've only spoken to your staff twice during my stay, once to inquire where good Thai food could be found and to report a natural gas leak near the laundry rooms.  I believe your ***** should be directed towards a room on the second floor.  **** walks away without saying a word, his face red as blood.

I shut my door, thinking what a great way to start my day.  I don't even spark up, I'm pissed, but not quite pissed enough to want to choke **** yet.  Wait, that didn't sound quite right.

Well, anyways, I finished showering and shaving, get all my bags strapped to the Katoom, when well look at who is walking towards me, it's Prick **** **** coming back, with both hands in the air.  **** says, I''m so so sorry, please accept my apology, I had the wrong room.  I said to ****, no worries, mistakes happen.  **** says, well, your entire stay is on the house, no charge.  I said, well ****, that's unnecessary but thank you.

So, I jet, southwest bound and down towards the 4 corners monument.  The point where the states of Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona meet.

I stop momentarily at the monument but it’s busy with tourists so I continue to Arizona, it’s about high noon and it’s hot.

I only take a couple of pics on my way to the intended destination for the day, Holbrook, Arizona.

I found this rock formation growing from the ground in the middle of nowhere Arizona quite interesting.

I arrived in Holbrook, completely spent after a few hours in the Arizona heat.  I enter the only motel I can find with vacancy, it's a dump, but cheap.  So, I turn the A/C on igloo temp and take a nap.  I awake and I'm hungry, fortunately there's a restaurant adjacent to the motel parking lot.  Mexican immigrants trying to make there way.  Delicious food at a reasonable price with ice cold coca-cola.  I feel refreshed, but I spent most of the rest of the day relaxing in my room.

I hear some motorcycles arrive in the motel parking lot.  Without looking and with their distinctive sound, I know they are Ducati's.  I get up and see 2 Ducati Multistradas, 3 people.  I go out to meet them.  They are from France and Mexico.  Two brothers, both born in France, but one brother moved to Mexico and has lived there for decades, the other brother still resides in France.  The one female, Belta, is the girlfriend of the French/Mexican brother.  They rented the Ducati's and are following Route 66.

I tell them that the next day I'm going to ride to Petrified Forest National Monument the next day and they're welcome to ride along.  They agree.  Communication isn't easy as Belta is the only one to speak English.

The next day, Frenchy, Mexi, Belta, and I take a nice short ride out to see the Petrified Monument.

Good to have you and your RR back :thumleft:
Keep it coming!

Another pretty rock formation growing in the middle of nowhere.

How did this 200 million year old wood arrive in Arizona from what is today Costa Rica without anyone moving it?

I've got answers.
