My XR650L never had this problem, until I recently fitted new tyres. I immediately that the front end was somewhat loose while riding and on gravel it had a permanent side to side motion.
Yesterday, we went for a ride and on the way back, I had to ride a stretch of tar. When I approached 120kmh, a speed wobble developed. I've never had this happen on my XR and when I accelerated a bit more, it got substantially worse. So much that I sure I will loose control if I go any faster.
I would appreciate any advice on how to fix this. Some thoughts:
It definitely started after the new tyres were fitted.
I put slime into the tubes.
I've tried a range of different pressures, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
The wheel bearings are fine.
I fitted a wider rear tyre and it is also a bit higher than the standard rear tyre.
Thanks in advance.
