I don't have to tell you gas stoves are not all that economical. You can't find gas to buy in Lesotho, or Namibia or some one horseman town as example.  Gas cost R50- R90 per bottle and you never know how much gas is left in the cansiter, after which you throw them away, and some use a screw top and other a pinch top to secure the gas canister to the burner.

How do you plan the use of your gas canisters? You can't always buy a new one to make sure you do not run out of gas while on a hike or a trip.  I have yet to see a man fart enough methane to run a burner to get his coffee going.

Petrol, paraffin/ kerosene or Benzine even Thinners are everywhere in Africa and you always have petrol in your bike or 4x4. Petrol cost around R4.5 to fill the 500ml bottle, and you do not need to buy a new bottle. In the long run these stoves are much more cost effective than gas burners.

With that the current multi fuel stoves on the SA market there's not a lot of options and they are really expensive. The idea is to offer a good value stove that will out last you at a very competitive price.

Eventually after a long search and testing we got hold of these units, they can burn petrol, gas and (benzene) white gas. The other more expensive units do not allow a choice of gas or liquid fuels, they only burn liquid fuel.

The Jiko, that is "stove, cooking place" in Swahili, are sold with a 500ml fuel bottle, fuel pump and a 24cm x 66cm aluminium screen.

The burner consist of three very sturdy rubber padded feet that allows for a 20cm wide secure footprint. The entire unit is serviceable with rubber o-rings that is easily sourced at most car spare shops, in addition we carry spares should you break any of the parts on the stove. Sturdy aluminium parts are used on the pump and burner. Featuring self-cleaning Shaker Jet technology, and fold up small enough to be used by globe trotters and 4x4 enthusiast. No more need to carry huge gas bottles on the roof rack of your 4x4.
This stove can be used on your family car holiday camping trips, caravanner, tent campers, hikers, globe trotters any type of adventure, it's not just a dual purpose riders stove.

This liquid-fuel camp stove allows for precision-simmering performance and puts it in a chassis that’s built to handle the roughest adventurers. In addition the burners pan design will minimise heat loss and directs the heat upwards.
