Hi All
While having breakfast during March at Engen Mossel Bay, four or five airheads arrived for fuel. I left the wife, rushed out and chatted to the guys, who told me about the trip they had just been on. I was surprised to hear that there's a wack of GS airheads still around, plus they are a group of Wild dogs, plus they have a forum. Thanks guys, I have since mooched around the forum and joined.
Been riding since the sixties, mostly BSA's and Triumph's. I soon got tired of the oil leaks, plus having to oil bake the chain in the oven while the missus wasn't looking and upgraded to an R50. Been a Beemer fan ever since.
Bought an R80 GS in 05 from John Carr at Trefco in Bellville and have done to 40K + since. Dug a few holes, cracked a few ribs while on a Mountain pastures BMW course, in the esteemed company of Jan Staal, Hein Kumm and Deon Meyer plus a super bunch of guys.
Am enjoying the forum, but sorry I hadn't found it sooner.
Thanks for having me and not having an age restriction
Cheers
Norman
