Early Sunday morning Vuilbaard and myself set off to find some of the roads we rallied in the early 80,s . Our route took us to Paterson Alice dale Riebeek east over Misty mountain to Shamwari. few photo,s of the area we rode
We arrived in the very busy Alice dale thinking of a coffee break
Looked like all the town folk had left Alice Dale for the weekend
We found the first rally stage which ran around the town in those years there was only one car that spat the opposition out , the car was driven by the best rally driver this country has ever seen
Most of the rally stages in the 80,s were run in the dark.

One travels for some 42km between the mountains before you get to the Riebeek East road.
