Brought back memories of my (backpacking) travels through Patagonia - lovely part of the world!

If anybody's thinking of heading that way, just go! The people are friendly, the scenery awesome, there's a fair bit of punblic transport, and they fully cater to the adventure tourist market. Bariloche is also a fantastic/popular holiday spot, although the countryside gets more extreme further south.

For alternative flights, look at Malaysia Airlines, JHB - CPT - Buenos Aires and back. No visas required for SA passports in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru. Think we're good for the rest as well, but not been there.

Our flight is booked for Sept... -+R7000 each.
I am still looking to do a ride over there that will suit the budget.
