Potch via Railway Service Roads (7 Sept) Track NOW Posted

What a nice ride!

We met up at the usual spot (Heuningklip Sasol) at 7am
There was Li, Myself Splash and FransWest.

We headed up through Randfontein and got on the railway service roads just outside Carltonville.

We spent the rest of the day on these fantastic tracks. they really do make for fantastic riding.

We had Brunch in Potch at around 11am and were back home at 3pm.


on the last stretch of tar coming home Li had a puncture. Almost the same spot on the rear tire as last week and a similar piece of steel (just thiner)
what are the odds of that happening twice in 7 days?

Total km's for the day 315 and about 250km of these on rail service roads
On one of the last straight dirt stretches I had my KLR up to 157kph on the GPS  :biggrin:

Great stuff Jules. I agree, the railway service roads make great riding. And that must be the only sneaky route into Potch that hasn't got a speed trap  ;D

Yip under 30mins to repair.

I need to fix the track first there were a few "detours" due to locked gates etc I will clean it up and post it.

A great days riding on an interesting route. Some good fast sections and some more technical stoney bits, not to mention a little hill detour. I think it was just right. Could do this on any Sunday!
