Morning all,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this (but am hoping that there will be some ideas)....
A mate and myself will be doing a trip from Cape Town to Cairo in July and August this year. Leaving Cape Town mid winter, the Rallye II jacket I have will do nicely to keep out the cold. By the time we get to Sudan, we are expecting temps of around 40-45 degC!! ... and the Rallye Jacket will probably turn into my personal little sauna.
My idea is this:
remove the protector lining (the one with the orange protector pads) from the jacket and get a separate body armour jacket like the ones the MX riders use.
When it's cold, use the Rallye over the body armour; when hot, use an MX shirt.
I'm not sure if de-hydration will be a problem with the MX shirt letting too much air through.
Space limitations prohibit taking a second airflow jacket.
Any comments / suggestions?? any other ideas?
TIA
Dale
