It has been a few weeks since the Quest 2021 winners were announced and our local champ Neil has been basking in the afterglow of his stupendous achievement..
With this win came the honour of being gifted the bike he rode in the event, Honda CRF 1100 DCT, #14…ridden by a little old lady on Sundays.. :ricky:
With all the paperwork and transfer of ownership etc that had to be done, the inevitable delays took place…..
The man started becoming anxious whether he was ever going to receive his bike… Martin and I started planning the surprise delivery of his steed.. we had the guys from Honda Tygerberg involved in the plan to surprise him and to watch his patience starting to wane played perfectly into our plans…. Martin pulled a rabbit out of the hat and managed to arrange speedy no reliable courier of all 3 bikes to slummies, using Bikes in Motion transport guys.. big :thumleft: to the guys.
The bikes were collected and taken to the new Honda Wing dealer in East London. A fitting occasion for such an important milestone in our town. Thank you Honda SA..
A lot of deviousness and tactical lies eventually managed to get Dikkes (Neil) to the dealership at 8am, where the group of supporters, friends and family awaited him. He was genuinely surprised and the look on his face and language that exited his mouth was a true reflection of his surprise… :imaposer:
Below are a few pictures of the small event/handover/roadshow that took place this morning.
