Monday morning and the weather is perfect in the Natal Midlands. Kids are off to school and my wife Toni has the day off coz it's mid-term break here in Kzn.
Do I feel like working? Nah! Would much rather go ride my bike, so after some subtle persuasion, Toni and I are off to the Karkloof, an area about 10 km away that I have not been to in a while.
Toni and bike about 10km into the ride at about 08h00.
Found this lovely deserted road through the forest to explore

Turning back because we did not have permission to be there? Of course not, getting permission retrospectively is a much better idea.

After a very pleasant ride through the forest, came to a clearing at the top of the mountain, with a path leading to a fantastic viewsite over the Karkloof.
[/img]
and this amazing little dam high up on the mountain.
Back down the mountain.
[/img]
Out of the Karkloof and arrived at Craigie Burn Dam

From there through to Mooi River and on to Nottingham Road where we stopped for breakfast.
From Nottingham Road a lovely twisty tar road through the Midlands and back home by 12h00. I should definitely do this more often.[/img]
