Hey dogs

So my 1150GS has had an irritating surge, most noticeable in the upper gears when one is cruising on part throttle. A known problem on the single spark models. Apparently due to the motronic unit reading the feedback from the lambda sensor (02 sensor) and making adjustment when in the open loop mode.  This only occurs when the engine is at operating temp.

I spent many hours researching on the net and found a lot of snake oil cures, like the CCP removal, "steptoe jumper mod" and the Air temp resistor mod which i tried but without success.

Anyways i had the tank off on the weekend and thought while it's off maybe i should just disconnect the Lambda sensor and see what happens.

Oh my word, what a different bike.  No more silly leaning out when holding the throttle steady.  No more spitting and farting on part throttle.  Only nice, seamless, smooth as butter engine response.

What a joy.  My day was made.

I hope this helps others that are experiencing the same problem.
