Folks,
This R1150R is giving me more grey hair.
Yesterday I got the replacement starter motor, fitted it, she cranks like a beaut but doesn't run.
She was running nicely before the starter packed up.
There is no spark and the injectors don't fire.
I've confirmed the HES's are good. I've had them out, cleaned everything up, went through the wires and all is good.
It looks like a prev owner replaced them with a bosch unit in the past. I connected the HES's to a battery and LED and can see the LED goes out as it crosses TDC.
The fuel pump primes when its switched on. That tells me the neutral switch interlock is OK. Its parked on the sidestand.
Turning the engine, as it crosses OT the fuel pump runs. This also tells me the interlocks are OK.
Each fuse has been checked with my DMM, all are good.
From what I know, the coils and injectors are fired from different Motronic outputs, so its unlikely both of them have failed.
The fact the fuel pump runs as the motor crosses OT tells me the Motronic is seeing the signal from the HES's.
So the problem seems to be some interlack I'm not aware of.
Does anyone have any suggestions what to check next .
