So a few weeks ago I high sided in the sand and broke the top radiator bracket on my 800GS. I have SW Motech crash bars but... problem as I see it is they dig into the sand and the bike still lands on the plastics. Now, the plastics are actually attached top centre to the radiator top bracket so any sideways force on the plastics puts the load directly onto the top bracket...
So, top bracket broken and bottom held on with a few cable ties as a field repair.
Busted radiator showing the top bracket.
Radiator repair bracket is part no: 17 11 7 709 754. The bracket is riveted onto the top of the radiator. The rivets supplied are 4x10mm which are actually slightly too long. I replaced with 4x8mm. The 10mm would fit but you would probably have to get a bit more brutal than I wanted. The old rivet heads are still stuck in my core, no way to remove without damaging the fins.
Back together and ready to go.
