Day 4: Sendelingsdrift to Vioolsdrift  (the interesting day)
On the map you will see a dark blue line as well as a pink line. The pink line is the easy route and 5 riders took it. The dark blue line includes the technical 4x4 section just south of Kuboes. We did this stretch also in 2015 from south to north and back then it was already quit technical. This time we decided to do it north to south and boy o boy were we in for a surprise.
The red circle indicates the technical section which is about 5km in length. We were 2x Africa Twins, a 990 and an 1190, it took us about 3 hours to cover that 5km section. It was way more washed out than 3 years ago. Serious up and downhills with lots of loose rocks.
This is a seriously technical section and I would not recommend it to anybody
We got to Vioolsdrif at 7:30pm

Ek sien Twister met sy lang bene het weer almal se bikes toets bestuur.  By the way Twister ek hou van daai seiltjie waarop jy tyre regmaak. Lekker partner.  :ricky:

Day 5: Vioolsdrif to Klein-Pella via Eksteenfontein
The first section is an awesome sandy section right next to the Orange river and then it changes to a dry riverbed and later to a stunning 2 spoor all the way to Esteenfontein.
We refueled in Steinkopf and then back to Klein-Pella.
O- ja, before I forget, one of the guys broke his foot so he took the fast gravel road back to Klein-Pella.

Platte,  there were 3x DCT's in the group. They were not part of the technical day but I am sure that the DCT's would have been slightly easier to handle in those difficult sections.

How did the Motoz Tractionator’s do on the blue 990 in comparison with the new E07 on the AT?
The EO7+ did a great job and I was pleasantly surprised by the tyre. Mitas has got a winner here,  7 of the 9 bikes were fitted with  them and they delivered as promised on sand, rocks, high speed gravel highway and tar.
[member=20844]171steve[/member]  can you give your input on the Tractionator Dessert?

Great report Losper and awesome trip. Huge fun you had in a short while, a bit of everything.

Great stuff manne!  Lyk nie maklik op enige bike nie, wat nog 'n grote.  :thumleft:

Thanks for the amazing report Losper, its enough to make one quite jealous !! Great photos as well make it that much more alive. Appreciated greatly.
