Ride to Boons, Derby, gravel, a few photos.

So, after almost 6 months, I decided to get on the bike again, before I have to go for a new driving licence.

Just did a quick gravel trip via Boons, Derby, Koster, Rustenburg loop. About 180km in and out.

I noticed that the shortcut between Maanhaarrand and New Thorndale road has 2 locked gates.

Fortunately I was able to get the respective farmers and asked to open it for me, hate to turn back.

The following photos are about that little road which used to be sooo nice to ride, without locked gates.

Mountainbiked that shortcut in Epic training many times when riding between Magalies wimpy and Breedtsnek.  the one we were a group of about 10 mountainbikers and this farmer chases us down in his bakkie with a shotgun telling us were trespassing - never rode that shortcut again but its and awesome track.  Now I want to explore the dirt road that goes from Boons to Swartruggens and then Groot Marico.....

There used to be a small cafe at the Derby Silo's where you were able to pick up a cold drink - dont know if its still there....
