Hier in die Transvaal was al daai kanonne al gesteel vir scrap metal!  Julle is gelukkig.

I was told that they indeed caught a guy busy cutting a short section of barrel off on of those big guns. :eek7:

Great day out altogether. It would have been nice to see just one of these things in action. With practice rounds, of course. Thanks to Katana for the impromptu head-to-head 1200 test.

Why Harley's ride the way they do....

These Harley riders are often overseas groups, and I would guess the reason why they are so frantic about sticking together is because they are strangers in a foreign land.

Meeting guys like you okes can only be a bad experience for them.

I met a group of "Travel Gravel" XT's on the Macassar coast road after the gun run on Sunday, also riding like poepol tortoises, but I exercised patience, bacause I could see that they were either very new riders, or very foreign to our roads.

:imaposer: but actually 2StrokeDan is one of the most courteous riders I know . He is always looking out for stragglers and strugglers in the group , and is very considered of car drivers also. ..... anyway before I end up sounding like a 2sDan groupie, let me post my pics  .

Thanks again , that was a super day , and I bought a card reader so could download my pics.

Dewald le Roux from the Heritage Society telling us about the cannons , how they work and the history of us. It was a highlight for us.

Going downstairs. Dewald explained to us that the gunners had to take off all their clothes and wear cotton whites and wooden shoes to make them less "electric".

Some enactments by the Heritage Group and their charter. I found it interesting that they are not concerned with the politics of war , but for the life and uniforms of the soldiers, and their weapons and vehicles, regardless of whom they fought for .
