I like riding my bike as much as the next guy. However, something I have noticed for a while now is that it seems that areas that in earlier years were fairly well managed and access controlled or at least limited, are now free for all.
I look at some of the ride reports from Damaraland and other Namibia wilderness areas, the Lowveld, Drakensberg, Wild Coast routes and riverbed playgrounds and it appears anything goes these days. While beach access by 4WD vehicles has been limited, bike access to other wild areas seems to have been freed up.
Am I missing something here or is it part of the general breakdown of standards in our country?
