RIM CLEAN

I have to ask , Our bikes come with black rims , and I like to keep them black and shiny , but with the chain lube that makes a mess on the rim and spokes , keeping them clean is a constant chore . I dont mind this , but buy using mild degreaser seems to attack the anodised coating on the rim , resulting in the rim having this dull cloudy look . I have tried several polishes with little effect or results .
So my question is ! Is there a way to make the rims nice and black with a shine ?
