Hey guys, Africa Welsh pointed us to a ride report here-the Botswana trip- from the maximumbikes site and all I can say is wow!
You guys in SA know some some places to ride. Awesome stuff from what I've seen thus far.
Anyway, first personal is Chris and I hail from Wasilla, Alaska, about 60 Km north of Anchorage (as we say about Anchorage-"It's only 15 minutes from Alaska") and I ride a few bikes, mostly an Aprilia Pegaso but also a BSA/Yamaha/Harley bitsa bike and a BMW K75S.
I really liked this one-it's so unlike where I ride (unless I'm on a snowmobile!) It's so open and empty, miles of nothing, like sailing on an ocean of land. I'll bet a guy gets handy with a compass!
Here i am right after clearing the Canadian border station, crossing into the Yukon.
I'm going to look around a bit more. Hope it isn't a problem having folks pop in from half the world away.
